After all that info I got from you and the other guys , I made one last check before I drove 100 miles for the PTO parts , and good thing ! My tractor doesn't have a hole for the shifter shaft ! I call my buddy who had the parts tractor , and he said I was blind , but he went and looked at his fleet ( he has 7 , one of which is a white demonstrator) and he found the Demo didn't have a hole either , but all the rest did ! Isn't that interesting ?? I didn't really need it , so I'm gonna let it slide.....

One of two possibilities...
Either the hole is there and is filled with a plug which needs to be knocked out for the shifter, or the transmission case has been replaced with one from a Cub Cadet.

This was cobbled together when I bought it , red rear and yellow front , But his Demonstrator is original ....

Thats hard to believe no hole for the lever but like other post said maybe the tranny housing was changed. Check to see if theres a cast code on the tranny it should be close to other cast codes on the tractor. Call a Cub Cadet dealer and see if he mite have some info.
