I am getting ready to pull the torque tube from my a. I have the engine block removed. After I get the clutch linkages and pedals etc. removed, will the tube just disconnect after removing the bolt teaching to the transmission? Is there any special removal process I need to consider? Also,a hat happens to the drive shaft, will it come out with the torque tube?

Thanks, I know this is any easy question to all you guys who have pulled these apart before.

Thanks, Jim

Yes, it is fairly easy.
Disconnect the clutch linkage at the pedal end of the torque tube.
Support the transmission.
Remove the four bolts holding the torque tube to the transmission, then pull the two apart. There are two alignment pins that might make it appear difficult to separate, but it should come apart fairly easily. The drive shaft is connected to the transmission input shaft so you will need to allow enough room to pull the entire torque tube clear of the end of the shaft.

When you slide the tube loos from the tranny you could unhook the u-joint then the drive shaft could stay with the torque tube
