Cub PTO Parts

A buddy of mine is offering me the PTO shaft and
other parts for my non-equipted cub. The shaft
looks like an easy job , but that's going to need a
drive gear in the trans too, am I right ? Or is the
gear already in there and I just need the shaft and
shifter?

No gear just main shaftfrom clutch has male spline pto has female coupler that slide back and forth to enguage. Make sure the female end you are getting isnt worn bad on the female end or it wont stay in gear very well but they can be refreshed enough to enguage and hold remember the Cubs PTO runs counter clockwise and engine speed as its direct hook-up to engine.

Ok , just to clarify for my self, All I need is the shaft and the shift mechanism off his tractor ?

Depending on what is currently on the back of your tractor, you may need the entire back cover off the donor tractor.

Don't forget the little bracket that holds the lever engaged.

Make sure that the sliding coupler is in good condition

Yes , I'm going to get the rear cover , I only
have the delete plate.
