560 power steering.

(quoted from post at 00:39:25 01/28/14) which line is the pressured line? the line going to the side of t/a housing or the line going to hydualic bank under dash? thanks

The line on the side of the center section comes from the power steering pump. The oil returns under the dash.

I am buying a 460 LP with factory power steering. I also have a 450 LP with factory power steering. Is the 460/560 setup superior to the system on the 450? According to my Dad, the 450 power steering was never that great, even when new. Thanks, Hugh

The factory installed power steering on a 450 was basically the same "after-market" units that were installed on a whole bunch of Farmall Ms and Hs. Power steering did not become what it is today until it was actually engineered to be incorporated into the basic design of the tractor. So yes, the power steering on a 460 probably is better than what is on your 450, but if you ever drive a Farmall M or a 450 WITHOUT power steering, you will very quickly appreciate having it. The difference is night and day.

Thanks to Rusty Farmall for the thoughtful reply...anybody else have any observations about the power steering on the 460? Thanks again, Hugh
