cam gear

Is there a trick to getting the cam gear off a 281? need to get the crank out and can not get the cam gear off. tried a puller with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Rusty

Pull the cam and you do not have to remove the gear.

When we were building our 88 puller gas had to give it a bunch of heat ! I know it's not the same engine or even the right color but ours was stuck pretty good after a lot of years of service ! Try a little heat and be gentle !

Do as Charlie suggested and pull the cam shaft. That gear was probably installed using a hydraulic press. Hal
