We have a Steiger 400HD. IT has butterscotch colored hydralic fluid in it. I am told it is Hytran compatible. Why did CaseIH use this? They call it Nexplore.

(quoted from post at 10:43:04 01/26/14) We have a Steiger 400HD. IT has butterscotch colored hydralic fluid in it. I am told it is Hytran compatible. Why did CaseIH use this? They call it Nexplore.

Nexplore is supposed to be better for lubricating the drive axle parts than Hy-Tran Ultra. That's the reason we were told that the hydraulic system, but not the transmission, in Fargo built tractors used Nexplore.

Currently Nexplore is being replaced with the new Hy-Tran Ultraction which is a multi-grade hydraulic/transmission fluid that is better suited for the heavy gear loads and has better cold weather performance than Nexplore exhibited.

It is, we were told by CNH, acceptable to top off a system with Nexplore using Hy-Tran Ultraction.
