W400 Thinking of Selling---Values?? Nebraska

Got too many projects and thinking of selling my W400. Good Serial Tag. 1956 year.
Its a good tractor. I brought it home from North Dakota. I am in Central Nebraska. It runs, needs the carb gone through and the steering box fixed as the wheel will pop and keep turning at a full lock turn. Both rear tires need to be replaced. TA seemed to hold when i drove it around. The Tin is excellent on the old girl. Some one put a W4 front axle under her for some reason. I have a complete front axle from a W450D that i was planning on putting back under her to make her correct. (I have the complete rearend yet from that W450D). It would be a great project that needs to be done and i have others that will take years to get done. I have finally convinced myself of this fact.(took a year). This W400 deserves to be brought back to life and taken to shows.

It would be hard to see her go, but if someone would dive in and restore her, it would be worth it. Atleast i saved it for a few years. Was always in my shop sitting a waiting for her turn.

Whats a fair asking value to put on her??

pic didn't load?? Can view pic at the test post forum.

that maybe the original front axle, as it looks to be the early model w400 cause it has the small fenders. I don"t think the w4 front axle would even fit it. it appears like the w 6 axle to me but picture is not that clear. but yes the 400"s have the pipe style axle but just not sure on the early ones. post the serial # as there is not a bunch of these 400"s produced. looks like a very nice original tractor. I would keep it as is as with its original paint for the most value. as is I would say 2800.00 to 3000.00. serious collectors don't want a painted tractor when buying low production models, as they should be meticulously restored.

You are correct. I meant to say W6 axle. And i agree, they should be restored to orignal or better and the right way. the W450 axle i have is perfect to slide under her. I do have a complete steering gear box assembly too for the tractor. i will look up serial number.
