Farmall A front axle

I traded for an A parts tractor and noticed it has a square adjustable front axle instead of round. Is it an industrial or what?

An Industrial tractor would have a foot feed accelerator, too. A Farmall AV also has a "diamond" axle, but the extensions and steering knuckles would be taller than the A's. Likewise the AV has 19" front wheels as opposed to the A's 15". I believe all the diamond axles are adjustable whether A or AV. However, some round A front axles were non-adjustable, while some were adjustable.

The diamond axle was issue on industrial tractors and a special-order option on the A and SA.

I cant help with that axle problem but I do have a governor problem if someone would like to shed some light on. Previous owner had the motor overhauled and now the governor does not respond when under load or climbing a hill. Also it doesn't want to idle all the way down like it should. The throttle comes all the way back but the motor acts like its still a click or two ahead. I know some of you guys have run into this before so any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob
