fast-hitch filler plate picture

Here is a photo of a fast hitch filler plate. Thought I would post this as once in a while someone asks about same. My Farmall 340 Parts Catalog shows it as part number 523 387 R11 and the drawing is on a straight piece of metal. The catalog lists both 2" and 2 1/4" roll pins for use with the plate to hold it in the socket.
As an example, the steel insert enables the use of small-point implements from a Farmall 200 on a Farmall 340; a tractor with large sockets.

The plate is made from 1/2" steel and measures 13 3/8" long; 1 1/8" wide. The cross of the 'T' is 3/4" long X 2" wide. Two 1/4" diameter holes are drilled through the steel. Centered 2 1/4" from the end (width-wise with awl extending through in photo) is on the edge and the second hole is centered 10 1/2" from the same end, on the face.
I 'tink' I found mine lying in the area below the seat assembly on one of the Farmall 340's.

The set I got don't have the tee on the end but have the roll pin holes with broken pins, never needed them, not sure where I put them.

We had a blade for the 460 that needed those spacers. No need to pin them in if your blade has a little chunk of steel welded to the underside of the prong. The chunk will hold the strip in when the prong is locked into position.

Makes for easier removal when going back to the drawbar that is the correct size.

That's perfect and very timely.

My 240's fast hitch takes the large prong implements, and I've got a small-prong back blade.

I've got some 1/2" square bar that'll be perfect to make myself up a set. Two lengths, clamp 'em down with a little gap, a little weldy-weldy, and Bob's your uncle.

Al,

The yardstick has the business name in Newry cut off. I can see the "TE". What business was it? Possibility of it being Newry Mass Transit Enterprize that I recall of years ago?

Warning to anyone driving Hwy 27...watch for the speed trap on north end of town. The radar is hidden in the old Harvestore silo.

LA in WI; LA in WI;are you making a funny or are you saying you got pinched!?! The wind is really makin' a howling, growling sound around these parts this a.m. Traveling past St. Joe's Equipment yesterday, their red on white IH flag hangs in their window...thought about you. And about your inquiry...
