SMTA clutch job

Hey guys, just replaced the clutch disk and pressure plate on my SMTA. Had the flywheel resurfaced as well. I"ve replaced the appropriate seals and bearings while in there. Only question I have is how difficult is it to replace the seals in the transmission input shaft carrier? I have the I T manual and it says to remove the three bolts holding the bearing cage and pull it out. Is it really that easy? I"ve never done one. It doesn"t appear to be leaking but if I"m already apart shouldn"t I replace it anyway? Hope this makes sense. Sometimes things that make sense in my head don"t always type out the same way!

The drive yoke (Ujoint like device) is held in by a single center bolt. After removing it and pulling the yoke (usually a puller or a flat bolted to the tapered bolt holes and pushing on the center bolt) out of the input shaft, the flange does come off easily. Jim

You need to remove the clutch operating shaft and release bearing yoke first. Snout housing the release bearing rides on with the 3 bolts does slide out after the 3 bolts are removed. but it has a o ring on the housing to seal it in the housing bore. Comes out hard sometimes. Slide hammer screwed in the end of the clutch shaft will bring both the PTO and clutch shaft out. Seal in the release carrier seals the PTO drive shaft. There's also another seal for that shaft just inside in another wall of the housing.
You decide how far to check. Its possible to pull the clutch shaft out and find the rear splines on it or the coupler or T/A input shaft worn more than you like. Also 2 more seals that can leak that are on back in there and would require center housing removal.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to check it over in the morning and try to see if it's actually leaking. If it's not I'm might just shove it back together and get it back to work. Thanks
