Any surefire way to correctly position radiator on m/md so that grill will fit yet there won/t be large gap between edge of hood and grill? Or is it just trial and error?

Position it so the steering shaft goes through the hole in the radiator without rubbing.

Finger tighten the bolts holding the bottom of the radiator, put the front grill on, put the hood on and adjust the top brace rod so that the hood is not rubbing against the air cleaner intake -- many Ms have cuts worn into their air cleaner by the hood. Tighten down and double check that the hood is not rubbing on the air cleaner intake.

Alot of patience and trial and error. When I first put the hood on I was 2 inches off and crooked. Radiator needs to be loose with grill attached. Hood will be on and off many times if you want it straight and tight adjusting radiator tension rod. but after a few days it will turn out nice. Good luck.....

Thanks for info. I'll enlist wife's help when putting hood on as I don't want to to mess it up. Its not that heavy, but is awkward. Very nice machine you have there. Grill and hood are perfect. Thanks for photo.

Yes, 2 people are best when re-installing the hood.

Also, keep in mind that the radiator position that allows for the BEST grill to hood alignment may NOT be the best position for clearance of the steering shaft THROUGH the radiator. The steering shaft always has to be the first consideration.
