Will a gasoline engine on a 574 run correctly with the electric fuel solenoid on the bottom of carb replaced by a manual valve? Thanks,Jim

I"ve seen tractors with the solenoid messed up and someone had unscrewed the solenoid out broke off the tip and put it back in. It worked fine. All the solenoid does is shut the fuel supply off when you shut the tractor off to keep it from dieseling.

I H used two different style fuel shut off solenoids. The ones that just have a pin going into the carburetor have the main jet in the carburetor base and the pins enters the jet to shut off the fuel. That style will work with the pin cut off on the solenoid.
The other style solenoid has the main jet built into the inner end of the solenoid. You can't just replace that style with a plug due to the main jet being part of the solenoid.
