My wifes van has right at 90,000 miles on it,It seems to shift hard when changing gears.By hard It makes a klunking noise

james: bought a 2002 olds van 85k miles, a-1 condition, test drive on highway, never thru city traffic, bought it, days later driving it in city, same thing, bang/clunk sound into next gear, dealer felt bad about it, paid half for repairs, didn"t have ex warr,,found out manufacter was puting car trans in vans, got it rebuilt with heavy-duty bands,, good now...you might have same problem...bob
