Farmall A steering shaft removal process

I removed the cover at the front of the gear box and then the cotter pin and nut from the end of the shaft. What now? I thought I'd just be able to twist out from there, but I think there is possibly another step in the process? Let me know, thanks jim

You need to take the nut off at the steering wheel, then pull the steering wheel, then remove the key from the keyway, then wind the steering shaft out through the front. Catch the front bearing if it slides down the shaft, since you have the cotter and nut off.
