I just got a M&W live hdy pump with a vertical distributor. First what will the easiest way to set the timing? 2nd Witch outlet on the the pump is the high pressure side?

Set tractor on TDC and mark the position of rotor on distributor housing before you take it out, then put it back with mark in same place.

Do not know about the fittings.

Two pumps could have the vertical distributor. Where is the pump inlet and outlet openings, top or rear?
If my memory is correct, openings on top, suction closest to engine. openings on rear, upper opening is suction.

The hose ports on the pump should be 2 different sizes. 1/2" for the pressure side, and 3/4" for the inlet.
