856 at auction

I attended a retirement sale over by Canandaigua, NY today. A very straight one owner 856 diesel with 18.4x 34 tires and ROPS went for 13,750 dollars. For the red guys here a 2588 low hour combine went for 192,500 dollars.

That sounds more like C/A 886 pricing than 856 pricing.

I saw a 1206 sell last month at a farm sale for $25500. One sold down the road from there last winter for $27500.

That's a lot of ching for an 856 but the 56 series are becoming very collectible. As for the 2588 that is nuts. They are a nice combine but you can move into a 6088 for not a lot more money.

I think I sold my 856 diesel way too cheap back in July 2012. I had a motor out of a 1456 in it, was in real good shape, tires, paint and everything worked on it. Got $5,250.00 for it
