Crankshaft pulley on Farmall A

With a very tight press fit. Very tight. You need a bearing splitter, and a piece of 3/8 plate steel, and a ten to twenty ton hydraulic jack. Check the picture in the link. To see more pictures click on "Project Journals" in the left hand margin of the page, then click on "Farmall C Trike, SouNdguy.

To put the pulley back on, you use a piece of 1/2" all-thread, a good 1/2" nut, a small plate of steel with a hole, and an 2" pipe coupling. At least that's what I use.

I have seen some pulleys with a bolt in the center of the crank, and I have seen some with set screws, but most are press fit. Good luck with it.

Make a puller like Big Dog made for his Cub. Using a bottle jack or a hydraulic ram. Hal

Never know what has been changed does it have a set screw but all are pressed on and some are very hard to pull. You can use a split bearing puller thingy and a three jaw puller DO NOT PULL ON THE PULLEY or it will break thats why you use the bearing puller behind the pulley.
