spark plug wires to distributor location

I'm assuming you have the horizontal IH dist. If so no. 1 will be about 3 oclock with the firing order of 1342 going clockwise. Most IH caps have the no. 1 imprinted on the cap. Hope this helps

the plug wires are in the same position on all of these old tractors since 1939 with distributers. # 1 wire is always at 2 oclock ,then 4 oclock, 8 oclock and 10 oclock following the firing order. on the diesel models the rotation is opposite but still starts at 2 oclock. also the little screw for points on side of distributer should sit at 3 oclock when timing is properly set. this is proper position from factory.

Thanks guys for the help. took the wires off the distributor and couldn't remember where they went . Old age I guess . Thanks again .
