Good Morning All,

I'm looking to repaint the "INTERNATIONAL" hood emblems on my I-706. Is that black a satin black or gloss?? Also is the white on the letters an actual white and not the IH off white as the tin on the 706 would be?

Thanks for any help.

Well i am not 100% sure but when i did them i used a flat black and used the Cub cadet white . Was it correct don't know and did not care as it suited me just fine and it looked pretty good. And oh the black was John Deere flat black.

I'm not sure if their was a satin in the 60s. It looks more of a satin than a gloss to me, but wanted to check with some experts so it was correct when I was finished.

Hey don't ask me i am no paint EXPERT . As i when i want one of my old tractors RED i get the 2150 from Case I H and paint it i do not spend tons of money on all this new paint if i want a little more shine then i may buy a little hardner and add that to the paint . also to insure that i don't get all bent out of shape on the first scratch it is done before the tires even go back on .

I did my emblems this summer using IH gloss black and IH cream white-the same color for the white panels. Those are the colors I had on hand so it was handy for me. I studied the paint that was left on the emblems and determined I was happy with the colors I had. It looks good and for my non-parade tractor it works for me. This summer I will clean up and prep my engine screens and grill for new paint using IH cream white.

nice looking tractor, i see you have the 234picker brackets and subframe on there do you still pick earcorn? my Dad and i still pick and shell with a 234 mounted on a 560.

The first few tractors I painted I was sooo stressed that I would scratch something during assembly, which ALWAYS happens. But since then I have gotten really good at touch-ups so the mood is much more relaxed in the shop now!

Thanks for the help guys. I will post a picture of the finished product when I get it done.

burnt-smta, I do pick ear corn, but only for fun. Dad retired/rented the farm in the mid 1990s. Fortunately for me, the dairy guys that rent bought a new Kinzie 8r38in corn planter a couple of years ago. So, another tractor guy comes down with his JD 60 and 227 picker and we pick a few acres. We shell it with my MM D sheller. I do have the sheller unit for my 234 and have used that in the past as well. Where are you located? I am in southeast MN.

I live in northeast Iowa, I just do this stuff for fun also but my dad has a small dairy farm and uses it every fall.
