Need help Super A will not speed up

My Super A starts like a top but will not take gas or speed up. What could be the problem or problems?

governor spring is broken.

Had a an H with this problem, gov was stuck
Tapped a 1/4 bolt hole in gov weight, used a
sawzall to cycle the gov weights while oiling.
just run a 1/4 bolt thru the old sawzall blade.,
into gov weight.

Could be a number of things. If you grab the gov to carb rod and move it by hand will it spin up and if yes does the gov hold it back?? If it spins up good but the gov tries to hold it back check the throttle linkage to the gov and make sure it is hooked up and not binding. One that this can be hard to explain so follow the linkage and make sure all is good and no parts bind or have missing springs etc

if tractor iis outside check the air cleaner cup could be be full of water or ice I had a chalmers b that did that would run but gained no power was sucking on a chunk of ice

look at the carb throttle butterfly / linkage. it should move coresponding to throttle / governor response.
