Repowering a Super M Farmall

I would be genuinely surprised if somebody has done that EXACT conversion. The possibilities are literally endless.

Generally speaking, the conversion process is the same:

1. Remove the old engine.
2. Design and fabricate a rear engine mounting plate to locate the engine properly in the bell housing.
3. Modify frame rails as necessary, longer and/or wider depending on the engine. Ideally shoot for having the tractor the same length as original.
4. Probably machine a flywheel so the clutch matches up.
5. Connect linkages, hoses, and wiring.

that would be a nifty set up for sure. i put a bmc diesel in a massey harris 30 a few years ago, and although it was alot of work it was worth it

There was and article in farmshow magazine where a farmer put a 248 perkins in a model M tractor.so it can be done. The differences between 236 and 248 can't be that much.Scott
