why is it that almost every diesel engine old enough to be mechanical injection uses nozzles with a leakoff manifold/lines but the d282 has none?
i always thought it strange to have leakoff- after all, isn't the injection pump supposed to meter the fuel, so i'd think it should all get burnt.
on a similar topic, what would happen if you shimmed the nozzle on say an 806 to crack at 3000 or 4000 psi instead of the 2000 and change it says in the book? should be better atomization, easier starting, cleaner burning, right? or can't the pump make that much pressure?
