I am looking to purchase a new wiring harness and light switch for my 1950 Super A. Lots of option on YT, what harness should i buy, and should i purchase a 3 or 4 position switch? Tractor has head lights and a rear work light.

Thank you!

Is there a serial # break on the parts list?If so use that. From your descrption, use the 4 position switch.Call the 800 # listed at the top.Call them personally and ask...

unless wiring harness is really cheap, i would think about buying wire and wiring it up myself. the wiring is simple. just be sure that you get the proper wire size.

Dear Tim. From Wm. Eccles - Jardine
I am building a wiring harness a similar model and would be pleased to share my information with you. I have used heavier gage wire as one of the fellows suggested and soldered all connectors. The loom is available from a supplier in Main / maybe else where also.

Super A has a regulator so the three position sw is used. You need two wires going to the reg area one is for batt volts the other is for the two lites. Another wire from the amp guage to the starter and one going from the sw to rear lite. Then one going from the ign sw to the coil and another from the amp guage to the sw. Some sleeve covering and some terminal ends and you have it.

(quoted from post at 12:10:03 01/02/14) Super A has a regulator so the three position sw is used. . . .
That changed during Super A production. Early ones had a cut-out and 4 position switch. I believe the change was at serial 286222, which was during 1950.
