Success today....

Today I was able to split the B and remove the engine. Now I'm all set to begin rebuilding the engine. It may seem old hat to some here, but to me it's a big accomplishment.

I'm NOT looking forward to removing that crankshaft pulley!

Be very careful puling that pulley or you will be buying another one for it. I took 2 1/2 inch plates of steel and cut a U in both and then drilled holes so I could bolt the together and used those plates to pull on with a gear puller. That way you get a nice even pull and your pulling close to the center of the pulley not out at the edges of it

By the way I have a lot of left over parts and pieces from when I built my BA. My BA is half B and half A. Used the front half of a B and from the transmission back of n A to make it. So I have left over parts from the A and 2 Bs I used for parts

the best way to get that pulley off is leave it on and take the timing cover with but only if you or somebody you know has a press that's the way I do all my cubs and A

old has it right. build a u shaped plate with holes on each side fashion a bolt for the center. if it will not budge heat the pully. clean everything good before you try to reinstall. do not tightern the gear cover befor u get the seal centered on the pulley.
