Need Pistons!

I need a good set of used standard bore Pistons for a Farmall gas 460 with a C 221 engine, sent mine to a machine shop to be cleaned and checked now nobody can find them?

If the machine shop lost them they should replace them!Tell them to look harder to find them.Never knew of a machine shop to 'loose' parts.Call around to some of the MANY salvage yards out there.Good luck on your search.

The man at the machine shop said sorry! They also have a sign " Not responsible" for loss or damaged parts! Called a yard they said they don't sell pistons they do not make enough at $ 10.00 per piston to cover their labor!

I don't care what the sign says, the machine shop is responsible for the parts while in their possession, whether they like it or not!! I would not stand for that BS, it is totally UNACCEPTABLE!!

Think about it for a minute, the shop wants customers to trust it enough to do work for them, yet the shop is essentially saying that if we screw up and loose the part you trusted us to fix, we are not responsible and you are just SOL... if we screw up and damage the part you trusted us to fix, we are not responsible... you are just SOL... what a crock...

Make them find the parts or get replacements, if they are not held accountable for their mistakes, then what is to stop them from doing the same to another customer???

Here is another thought that just came to mind, get the information on the shop's insurance carrier and tell the shop owner that you will file a claim against their insurance for the lost parts....

Yea not cool at all. If they lost your block how would you feel. Since they are not responsible they could essentially lose/sell/give your stuff to the next guy and said they lost it.

Just a few days ago a friend told me about an injector shop loosing his 560 injectors he had a signed paper from shop saying he dropped them off they said we don't no how u got that paper but u never dropped off any injectors here he never got them back they stole them do u have any paper work I believe I'd seek legal advice that's just stealing I dislike thieves

Stand up to the shop. Locate the OWNER. Insist that they deliver to you one set of cleaned and refurbished piston. It's not your responsibility to replace them. Stand up to them.
Then read up on small claims court proceedings.
Usually just filing a motion is enough to motivate a business.BTDT

Having been in a similar situation in which I raised 3 kinds of H@@LLLL and got no where but way fewer parts back than what they said I was missing.

Having to do it over again I would work with them and then sue the crap out of them after I got my motor back.

Try these guys. Big yard.
