IH 285 Planter

hello,

I'm looking for info on 285 planter. I can't find anything on them. Is it simalar to the 295, would part interchange? Anyone have an idea on where to find a manual? I know very little about farm equiptment but I wll be using it for foodplot, if you need help on that subject perhaps I could help you guys with that. Any info will be appreciated.

You mean a 185? Binder Books has reprints/originals for IH equipment(their specialty),Ebay,and of coarse your IH dealer

Thats what I don't know. Did they make a 285? That is what was on the bag of seed plates and the person I bought it from doesn't know or care.

There were 185 and 295 planters.I never heard of 285.The 185 is the older model,the 295 is the 'replacement'.

Settled guys its must be a 185 if you guys haven't heard of 285 that's good enough for me.

I just so happen to be the guy you bought it from, and it"s not that I don"t care, it"s that I mis-spoke. It is a 295 planter unit and since I used it very little the unit number was not fresh in my mind. It did not say it on the planter but I did my research from who I bought it from and it was a 295 unit. It is a very good working unit and literature on that model is readily available.
