1946 M Hydraulics

I have a 1946 M that was converted to live hydraulics. I can get the cylinder to extend (using one hydraulic line only), but I cannot get the cylinder to retrack. It has a number of ports that I have hooked into the top part of the cylinder, but it still won't retrack. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I can email pictures if you would like to see the control and ports.

It needs force to retract.Either gravity(implement wt) or a spring. It wont do anything just laying on the floor 'naked'.Email or post pics so we can see if its plumbed right.Steve

Here are some photos I took of both sides of the tractor. Thanks for your help.

wow, you have a lot going on there. it looks like you have a char-lynn valve on there. the live pump is feeding in thru the top of the valve. then the return is the pipe that is hooked to the fluid fill port directly under it for the belly pump. the port with the t in it is one of the pressure supplys for the cylinder. the other port that is piped in to the side of the belly pump is the other supply for a two way cylinder. who ever did the conversion prolly installed an m+w live pump kit, and it uses the belly pump as a resevoir, the actual lift all pump is removed and a block off plate installed. i am guessing your tractor is set up for one way hydraulics. on the char lynn v-960 valve, which is the one i think you have, there are internal mods you can do to the valve to also make it a one way valve. i do have an owners manual for that valve, if you want a copy of the manual, emmail me and i can scan it for you.

Couple things that I see that could cause the problem.I think its building internal pressure.Return unused port to the main return line.Or take that hose down to the belly pump drain. If it's a oneway valve, simply plug the unused port.Do you have the cylinder hooked to an implement,or simply laying on the floor. Is the 'backside' of the cylinder vented or plugged. It needs to breath.Call me so we can discuss this further.
