spark plug question

I just found a set of (6) N.O.S. AC 18A spark plugs. Pictures are a little fuzzy but what's with the funky electrode? Someone told me they might be for a early Farmall diesel tractor. Anyone seen plugs like this before? thanks, Bill

the gas start diesel's do have an extended reach plug. just from the picture the thread type looks too small.

From the MD parts catalog...

Do you suppose the "U" ground electrode was an idea to keep it from breaking off in use due to vibration from the engine in diesel mode?

(quoted from post at 19:37:24 12/24/13) thanks for the info, think I would do any good putting them in the classifieds? Bill

Somebody, somewhere wants them. I once had a N.O.S. Champion for a Waukesha diesel. I never listed it for sale anywhere, but I did talk about it a little in these forums. Didn't really care if I sold it or not, but a couple years later I heard from someone who actually needed THAT spark plug to finish up a restoration. So I sold it.
