o-rings hydraulic lift

bought a gasket package for hydraulic on 130 farmall. lots of o-rings, some blue, some black, some brown in color. on the pressure valve, the existing o-ring is black; does color make any difference? seems that a brown o-ring fits best.

Ken yes every color means some thing Like how much it might move how much pressure kind of liquid, in this case oil. but with manual you may not know what goes where.

O-rings can be purchased in several colors. Some common colors are:

red/orange - silicone
black - nitrile, neoprene, HNBR, viton, EPDM (ethylene propylene)
brown - viton
green - HNBR (highly saturated nitrile) for auto AC systems, also EPDM

I have also seen blue o-rings for AC which are probably also HNBR.

So basically you need to know where the o-rings came from, the color doesn't help much.
