Help me ID this Part

Part Number 516021r3.

I was rummiging around earlier and dug 9 of these out of the dirt buried in the ground near the outdoor workbench. No telling how long they've been there. They look like they fit an IH cultivator but don't look like any parts for Our Cub and Super A tractors. I can't seem to find a match using the CASE/IH parts lookup, or using Google.

Here are some pictures...

I agree, square frame of cultivator lift arms, to round sweep shank. Probably used on most systems. Google the number! Jim

I wasn't necessarialy thinking about the standard (feet) shanks, but the round "z" bar that is part of the universal mounting frame and where it attaches to the front of the tractor. It looks like it would go there, but after looking at the other tractors I have that is a 1 peice unit that includes another mounting point above that.

It looks like if you tried to clamp this to the toolbars, that the round hole for the feet wouldn't be in the correct place.

(quoted from post at 07:22:50 12/23/13) Maybe to put the coulter to the beam on a plow?

Could be but I can't recall ever having anything like that around here. We have only had Farmall A's, Super A's, Cubs, 100's, and 140's over the years.

Is there a good way to look it up using the part number?

Any Ideas?

If you have a decent dealer, they can tell you.
If you have a microfiche set, it has a master parts index. Which book/card it appears on/in is listed for each part number. You then go to that book/card and find exactly where and on what machine the part is used.
If you have a stack of old parts books, start looking through the indexes (or is it indicies?) until you find a book it's listed in. It's likely a part for a tillage tool.

John Deere's online parts lookup allows anyone to find what machines a certain part number is used on. CIHNHFIATCO's doesn't.

I called the local dealer and he was able to look the part up but he couldn't figure out which model tractor or cultivator it fit. We did narrow it down to the part fitting a cultivator like I had thought. I asked him to email me the diagram that he had and this is what he sent. You can see the description it gives at the top, and from looking at the diagram I am not familiar with that type of set up. Anyone know what this is from??

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure they also fit several of the 50's and early 60's era cultivators that used a non-fast hitch rear section, too. I think the 461 rear section for non-2pt. tractors looked like that. I can't seem to find my CU-3 and CU-4 books to look them up for you, though.
