i was pushing snow today with my 140 farmall 1976 model and it runs perfect under load when no load it surges and i will ad that its been tuned up new everything starts easy runs good my problem is only at idle help would be greatly apreciated

When it does that does choking it help or hurt it??? If it help then try turning the idle screw on the carb the one up top in say a half turn. By doing that it will richen the idle mixture some

it dosn't help to pull chaoke and all i have to do for it to smooth out is put a load on it thank you all for the help

Adjust the Idle circuit richness. Screw near the top of the carb for best running smoothness at idle. Also make sure the breaker points are adjusted to .020 if distributor, or .013 if a mag. Jim
