300 oil breather issue

Posted a topic a while back about my 300 leaking oil from the breather. Well finally got around to doing a compression test on it and had 103 83 105 and 120 for results ! Looks like number two is the culprit !

Thanks for letting us know. The biggest gripe I have (and it is small) is lack of feedback as to what works. A broken ring, or a set of rings stuck in their grooves will do it. I would try a squirt of auto trans fluid in the cylinder between running it to see if its carbon loosening ability might free the rings. If not it might be time to take it apart. Jim

Thanks for the input. I will try the tranny fluid and see what happens ! Can't tear it apart now as I have been plowing snow with it everyday for the last week and a half ! Just been keeping the oil topped off and running it ! Still runs great except for the leak ! Will let you know if tranny oil works ! Thanks again !
