560 cylinder liner

I pulled the pistons out this morning. When I removed the number one piston the cylinder sleeve came with the piston. There was a lot of oil between the cylinder sleeve and the block I couldn"t find any cracks in the sleeve not saying there couldn"t be a crack that I can"t see. Is there another cause to this?

Do some research. MANY of the 560 blocks were factory oversized in the bore. Poor tooling I think. Rather than scrap the blocks they just bored them out bigger. In turn IH offered a larger od liner for them. I believe they were .008" bigger but verify. Somewhere you should be able to find a spec showing how much force it is supposed to take to install liner. If standard liner is put into over-bored diesel block you WILL brake the liners. Just did one 2 years ago with this exact problem. FP Smith in CA has/had some NOS blocks with liners installed. Still in cosmoline.
