Couple Farmall's selling tomorrow Help

There's a farm sale close by tomorrow and they've got a couple old Farmalls they are going to sell. One is a '37 F20 that's pretty rough. I know it is stuck but it might have some good parts on it. It does have foot brakes. The other one is a 100. It's nicer than the F20 but I think it is stuck too. I can't get to the front pulley to turn it and with 2 flat rear tires it's hard to rock it and see if it'll turn. Check the pictures out. Any ideas on what this stuff it worth? I don't know a lot about either one but I figure the scrap man will be there and I'd sure hate for him to get them if they are worth saving. Thanks for the help!

I would def pay more than scrap for that 100, that F20 I would let go for scrap, looks pretty ruff.
What state is this sale in?

Its NOT a narrow tread. only looks that way because it still has the cultivator mounts on the axles housing which is an illusion to the width. foot brake setup is worth about 100 bux. scrap the rest

F-20 looks like a wide tread to me.

If you can sneak one of the side access plates off the crankcase and look inside, it'll give you a better idea on what you're up against.

Let us know what they went for !

The 3 point is worth several hundred. Look around & see if you can find the rest of the mower.Wieghts are worth extra. Also might be chains lying around.I'd say a price but someone would definitely think I was an idiot ,so
I'll remain silent & thought a fool instead of opening my mouth & remove all doubt.I did see a Super C awhile back that looked simular go for $800. It was an internet auction & people always pay too much on those deals. Let us know how it turns out.

Optional parts alone on the 100 would make it worth more than scrap. If you couldn't get it running, you could still sell the single point Fast Hitch, weights and hydraulics and a few other parts and scrap the rest. Looks like money to me.

(quoted from post at 18:19:17 12/13/13) So, is the genny on the F20 a farmer conversion, or one of the aftermarket kits? I can't tell from the picture.

sure looks homemade. never seen an aftermarket kit like that before

around here,
scrap price on the older one
The 100, is a popular size here, A,SA,100,140 etc
stuck engines don't scare many buyers, but all tires bad does
maybe 4-500
the scrappers and parts guys won't let it pass for less than 4

I thought it was homemade, but I am not familiar at all with the electrical options on the F-series.

Back to the original question. There is at least $500 in parts on the F-20, an that is also close to scrap. my F-20 weights in at 4850. take a couple hundred pounds off for tires, and that gets you to just a whisker over 2 tons. See what #2 scrap is going for in your area, and that will tell you what to expect on the bidding.

Im curious to how theres 500 worth of parts on that F-20.

ive junked out over 30 of those things over the years and theres not a demand for anything mush over factory add-ons and nice aftermarket pieces which this tractor in question really has

well, around western PA, let's start with the front F&H rims. There is $150 right there. Now, let's go to the rad, even if the core is bad, there is another $75 for top/bottoms tanks. carb core, $25. Mag core $25. Hood $50. Tank (if not rotted) $50 Seat assembly $75. Head $75 on and on.

OldF20, not giving you a hard time I assure you. However, parts in Western Pa are getting scarce, and are not cheap. If I could make a trip out your way to buy up the old F12/20/30 ones cheap and bring 'em back, there are good parts prices back east. Issue is for a good bit of these, shipping costs drive the part price down.

You want H or M parts? we can't give 'em away around here......

I should start shipping stuff east. I have shelves full of that stuff just sitting here

I cleaned some stuff out this spring and I had almost 2 dozen F-20 fuel tanks. ended up sending about 17 or so to scrap. they hardly ever move and when someone does want one 25-50 is about all they're worth :?

Well they didn"t go to scrappers but $900 on the 100 and $375 on the F20 was over my limit. Thanks for the replies.

Tom, what's the going rate out your way for the live hydraulic pump for an M?

Rick

OldF20, I hear ya. I am talking about parts suppliers here in Pa. I am looking for a late F20 long block. All I care about is that it is not cracked. Best price I have found so far near me is $400. Maybe if I come out to RPRU, you and I can hook up. I might buy some of your "stock" and bring it back east.

I have always said that price on these old tractors depends upon what location you are in. I truly don't disagree with what some guys post here, but it always seems when I need a part or parts, all the "cheap" stuff out west kills me with shipping...........so I end up paying the higher prices around here and it is a wash $$$ wise.

I truly wish I could take a week and come out to Iowa, SD, Idaho, Neb. Etc and buy up 8-10 F series and bring them back home. The problem out east here is the wet climate. Everything is rotted out.......or cracked up from freezing. PA farmers must have been lazy, because I find lots of cracked blocks and heads...........

Rick, I'll check for you. I haven't ever bought one, so I can't say a price. I have a parts guy Burgh Equipment who I deal with all the time. He and I swap more parts, with very little cash ever exchanged. I'll check with him and see if he has any and what he gets for them when he does.

Unless it had an electric start (did not see any evidence on one), I would say it went about right.

That is a tad high on the Farmall 100 IF the engine is stuck. If not, it is a decent price. I just sold a 1 pt. hitch for $800 and have sold many of them between $650 and $800 over the years.

I sure would like to have that hood and front nose on the Farmall 100. Been looking for a good one.
