black strap vs white strip cab

how good are the cabs on the 66 series black strap tractors? comparable to a hiniker or year a round? guess 86 series is much better.

An 86 series cab is like sitting in a Cadillac compared to a 66 series cab. My OPINION is the factory IH 66 series cabs are great for field work but too big and clumsy for loader/yard work being visibility is poor. A Year Round or Hiniker cab is much nicer as visibility is way better.

I wouldn't go so far as the say the 66 series is "great" for field work either. They are very noisy. While an improvement over an open station for field work (as long as the Ac and heater are working) the lack of windows that open really hurt their field use. Especially now with their climate control systems at 40+ years old.

Agreed. By today's standards they are less then desirable but either way they beat no cab in the winter in my area as 20-30mph winds are the norm.

We had a factory cab on our 966 but no a/c. One door was blocked because of the loader controls. It is nothing short of a miracle the other door was still on it, because whenever I used it that door was blocked open just a bashing and swinging on its hinges. That cab was like a crockpot in the summer.

We thought it was so nice because the cab on our 856 was some homemade junker. Then we got a 1086. I couldn't have been more more impressed with that thing. They really are a nice cab.
