400 LP tractor head

I have a chance to buy a good looking 400 LP tractor with good tires "ran when parked" we tried to start it and it runs good but has water in the oil. My real question here is I know they had two different heads one is worth a lot of money . How do I know if this tractor has the expensive head ? Is there numbers on it ?

Engine serial # 161366 and higher is supposed to have the head with the smaller combustion chamber.
On the left side of page look for parts and pieces. Click on and then put 450 LP head in the search box. Look how the head is made above the ports. If you can't see or feel dips like those its the bigger combustion chamber head.

Which one is the expensive head the big one or little one on the combustion chamber?

Smallest combustion chamber like the head pictured was the most sought after. Since the aftermarket started recasting the head they don't seem to be worth as much. Especially one that's in unknown condition and could be cracked.

sounds like it may have a cracked head . you can buy new ones on ebay for 1100 complete .the numbers 364586R11 are under the valve cover .
