Farmall 230 Fast Hitch

Recently purchased a Farmall 230, I bought a fast hitch blade for snow removal. I am not very familiar with the controls of this tractor, the hitch has down pressure. My question is how to make the hitch/blade float, will be blading cement and gravel drives. Thanks for any help, Darrell

There is about 2 inches of slack built into the lift rods. The left side has a pin towards the bottom. The right side has a ring collar at the top. Setting these allows for floating action.

I'm not that familiar with the 230. But if it has a traction-control hitch similar to the other models, there should be a pin below the lift cylinder. It will be inserted from one side to the other. If the pin is removed, the cylinder will float to eliminate down pressure.

There are two pins, one in each pull arm, that you remove. They have loop pull handles and like ball bearings on the inside opposite the pull loops.

Here's the FH installed on a 230. Hal

That looks like a Super C hitch, think a 230 is different. On the super c hitch you pull the pin out of the rod on the right side of the cylinder, about 2 to 3 inches down from the top.

Thanks to all that replied to my post, The info was greatly appreciated and wolfman that worked very well. Thanks Darrell

The pic that EL TORO showed is not factory or at least not like mine. The pic he shows is mounted to seat frame for cylinder mount, mine is not. I also do not have lift sockets like that, mine has a cross shaft w/lift rods. I would say that is not the correct hitch on that 230 but could be wrong. Would post a pic of mine to your attn. gab as soon as I can get the boys to help me to do it.

The picture El Toro posted appears to be an earlier model fast hitch from a Super C or 200 which was farmer engineered onto a 230 tractor which most likely came from the factory with just a standard drawbar since the fast hitch was an option. There is a new thread near the top of page one on this forum which is seeking information of differences between a 230 and a 200 to which you might be able to provide some input, Hal.
