Cub PTO Cycle Mower belt pulley

Pulley slightly loose on PTO shaft. Anyone know how much torque can be safely applied to the pulley bolt to clamp pulley to shaft?
Thanks, Gary

Those things seem to have that type of problem all the time due to wear. I had taken them apart and then used some shim stock to tighten them up or in other words loosen it up and wrap the PTO shaft with shim stock and then slide on the pulley and tighten back up

Not much. It's cast, so it will not flex to clamp down on the shaft. It will just crack.

Take it off and look inside. Probably the splines are all wallowed out from being run loose in the past...

About the only thing you can do is use a "beer can shim" to take up the slack.

Take a thin hack saw blade and cut down through metal below the the "clamp opening" all the way to the splines. You can then tighten it on the pto shaft easily.
