I am trying to restore a smaller hydronic cylinder,it is disassembled the cylinder inside has some rust, does not appear to be pitted. What would be a good way to polish the inside of the cylinder. It has about 10 percent of the cylinder in rust.does not look real bad.
Thanks
Jerry

I have used cylinder hones, the kind you use on engine cylinders, to clean up cylinders with rust or small pits, works OK.

No offense intended, just trying to help here, but it's "h-y-d-r-a-u-l-i-c" cylinder. Helps when searching for parts and information to have the correct term.

I believe a "ball hone" is the best tool to use, but a new one might cost more than the cylinder is worth. Harbor Freight has a regular cylinder hone pretty reasonable, <$20
