Farmall 560 diesel trouble

Being it was first warm day out I decided to take the new to
me 560 to get a load of fire wood it started fine let it warm up
good and headed down the road about a mile down the road in
5 th gear running about 1600 rpms on fairly flat going it started
to lug down and smoke so I backed throttle down a bit and
when I pushed the clutch in it quit it acted almost like it spun a
bearing there was a little coolant coming out of the over flow
so I checked oil coolant and let it sit for a min and figured I
need to get it off the road so I hit the starter and it fired right up
so I gently pulled to the side watching oil pressure and temp
and temp was normal and oil pressure as well around 55 psi
With nothing acting funny at this point I came back home with
no trouble
I ran it around for about two more hours moving wood and
took a trip through sugar woods with no problem
Any ideas what happened to me I am drawing a blank
Thanks dan

Oh just had a thought
When hating the tractor this morning it wouldn't start just black smoke I pulled oil bath off and it fired right up wonder if the stead pull with that cold oil in oil bath may have been making it starve for air?

Dam auto correct

If it is a gas 560, I agree with Jimmy. They will frost up above carb and act like you've choked it to death. Sat a bit and the ice melted, good for the day.

If I'am recalling correctly the 560 has a Rossa Master injector pump. Very common for the plastic Governor ring to come apart in them causing those symptoms.

i have seen this on a few of these tractors where the air cleaner cup is full of frozen water and tractor would not start. even was the problem on a 660 i bought. air cleaner full of water. removed air cleaner cup and it fired right up.
goes to show that some people do not even read the topic as its a diesel and quoting gas problems.
