WI FFA member wins national competition for super H

Check out the following article. I hope it attached it correctly. I'm an Ag teacher from WI and teach a restoration class. He are currently restoring an H, but not as good as this gentleman. He won a $10,000 prize for his efforts at the National FFA Convention. Nice article.
Competition

This could be a first - making money on a restoration. That quality of work for a man of his age is fantastic.

How about one of the comments saying he pulled a 5 bottom plow on a SH just shows what some people would write.

he underwent a 20 minute grilling by a panel of 5 tractor restoration experts, so i was just wondering if he got asked why the super H decal is not in proper spot. seem to me if you spend painstaking time to get things correct thats one thing that just jumps right out. maybe the experts arnt up on their homework. but yes excellent job for a young guy.

My farmall cub will pull 6-16's in second gear, (as long as i dont drop er in the ground!) (wink)

Well Matt it is nice to see there are still young men that can pick a project, stick with it and be rewarded for it .

That would be Titan tire out of Des Moines. They donate a free set of tires to any FFA member or Ag Program restoring a tractor. I have the same tires for the H my class is doing at the moment. My guess is that design is smoother riding on the road for parades and such. Great program Titan has.

Matt - Where do you teach? Let me k ow if you need any parts for your H. I have an early H that I will probably part out. Motors stuck and it isn't anything special. BTW Mr Kruse taught me everything he could down in Elkhorn. :)

I've known Dave for a long time. I'm originally from Johnson
Creek so I could easily come by and get parts. I teach in Loyal
(Central Wisconsin) and that is where Dave's wife is from. I
wish I'd known that, there was a lot of sheet metal I needed,
but I should have it all by now. I have a handful of things on
order. I'll let you know if I need anything. Thanks.

I'll second that Titan has an excellent program going on. I also teach FFA in ohio. We refurbished an Oliver 77 that was fitted with four new Titan tires and a 560 Farmall this year, also with brand new Titans. All they require is some photos of the work being done to the tractor and some finished pictures. An awesome way to support the hobby and the kids involved in it.

I thought I recognized that name. You were a state officer when I was finishing HS. IIRC that was when Rick was elected. Year after Adam and Tracy were on???

[b:48e57f57be]Correct me if I'm wrong but the "H" decal looks like it's in the correct spot to me. What am I missing?

It's supposed to be on the upper part of the dogleg on the grille.
All things considered, I think that the young fella did an outstanding job.

the decal is supposed to follow the curve 1/2" away with even spacing. this one is way too far to the front.
even the hood decal is not spaced evenly as it should be.
