Farmall 460D Hydraulics Problem - SLOW

Looking for advice and help. The hydraulics for the loader and hitch are super slow - barley work. So what is wrong. They worked well all summer. Is it the fluid or could it be the pump or something else? I did change the fluid this summer and put in the least expensive from TSC. it was yellow bucket with a green lid. It is called Xtreme. Could it be issue - cold - to thick? Also I can hear the pump grinding - that is the best way to describe it. I check the fluid level and it was white and foamy. Should I can the fluid? Any ideas or thoughts? I appreciate the help. Thanks.

Just wanted to say thanks for the advice. A new filter, 10 gallons of new fluid and cleaning the screen solved the problem. Works good again.

thanks for responding with the outcome!!! Many just never get back to us, it leaves a good answer unrecognized. Jim

Just FYI: White and foamy indicates water contamination and the pump sucking air.

Make sure this "cheap Xtreme" fluid is MS-1209 compliant, and/or lists "Hytran (sometimes Ultra)" on the side of the can.

If it's not, then the residue from the old oil and the additives in the new Xtreme reacted and caused your problem. If you used Xtreme it will probably happen again shortly.
