If anyone is interested
Semo Missouri craigslist farm section has a
m farmall road grader for sale.

I never saw one before.

Wonder if this is a real item or something someone made?

Trojan (one brand) and others, were factory made. Also worth mentioning is the availability of power units with transmissions and drive axle wheel systems attached, directly from IHC. Jim

Trojan in Batavia NY assembled many Farmall M-based graders like this one.

Similar graders were assembled using the F20, Allis WD45, Minnie Mo "U", etc as the power unit. There were other grader manufacturers as well - Adams I believe was one.

They are not uncommon machines, at least here in upstate NY. In the 1940's and 50's many small/rural town highway departments had one

Ya and the guy thinks it is rare which it is not. He wants 11K for something at best is maybe 5K. Ya they are not super common but rare means 1 or 2 of them in the world which is not the case

Well that answered that, I just had never seen one before.

Is an interesting use for an m farmall tractor.

Figured you guys would know, if anyone would.

The A/C WD45 was not used but the WC was and it was made by A/C not an aftermarket like used in the M Farmall see picture above. A/C did make one that used the WD45 engine but was not based on the WD45 tractor. The W Speed Patrol was based on the WC tractor but had an extended front put on and the blade assembly

Was those built at LaPlant Choate in Cedar Rapids,Iowa seems a though i remember seeing them there in the late 40s with other road machines

Not sure where they built the W Speed Patrols at. O know the little G AC tractor was built in Gadsden Alabama but I know that because I was born there but only lived there a couple months

There was one on craigslist in western NY about 6 months ago around $3500 as I recall. I would have liked to buy it if I wasn't so old and had more room to store it.

An acquaintance of mine has a WC Speed Patrol. I remember them being pretty common back in the early '50s. Used to be an M grader parked here in town, but don't know who owned it. Don't believe it's there any more.

BobM, do you have any idea what sort of belt driven hydraulic pump is on that grader?

Rustyfarmall,
Attached is a picture of a pump set up that my dad put on his MD. The pump, and maybe part of the bracket came off of an old MD grader similar to the one in this post. I am not sure of the brand of the pump but will try to find out.

Garry, I would appreciate any info you can supply. I am wanting to do something similar on my M.
