300Dave posted about a bent drawbar. I gots' a bent one too. The Farmall 460's has must have been bent for years as the left inside is 'mushroomed' out from the only previous owner using something big to whack it out of the socket. I want to close the points just a tad; suggestions would be appreciated. Heat may not be the best??

No heat.Set it in a press and push.Use your handyman
jack and suck it together(rotate the top part so to
make it into a 'clamp' of sorts);use a large 'come-
a-long' puller or similar

That depends on what alloy it"s made of and how it was heat-treated. Unfortunately, no one knows and it would be expensive to find out.

The fact that these things can be bent at all indicates that the steel is not very hard, but heating it enough to soften it still might weaken it. Cold-working it could embrittle it, but it"s already bent so you"ve got little to lose there.
