I know lots of you still have some 6 volt batterys in tractors. They seem to be easy to find in 12 volt but not so much in 6 V. What brands/suppliers have you had success in finding these and do they last a while?

Walmart has combination 6/12 volt maintainers for about $20 apiece. The maintainer selects the voltage, just hook it up an plug it in.

I agree with CNKS - I buy mine at Walmart. I have both 6v and an Oliver that is 12v. I bet I have 8 of those maintainers from when I had about 20 cub cadets...

These at the link below are the kind Wal-Mart sell and are the updated version to the kind I have been using for years now. Basically the only difference between these and what I have is the new ones automatically detect the voltage of the battery and the older ones I have to manually select 6 or 12v. However, they work great and will fully charge a dead battery, plus maintain a battery with a float charge so as to not boil them and cause damage. I have about 6 of them I keep plugged in on tractor batteries all the time.

They make a very good product. I have them in 6V and !2V. They have a plug that you wire to battery and all you have to do is plug it in to tender.
