farmall 856

my 856 runs great, but lately there appears to be diesel coming out of the exhaust pipe. Do I have a bad injector? What would cause this?

Your problem may be lack of hard work. To much idling or easy work causes unburned fuel to come out the exhaust.

It is called sweat stacking.

Has it just been idling around?

If it is black and dries to a tough spot to remove it is wet stacking. It is condensation of water (from burning the hydrogen in the hydrocarbon fuel) It is normal for a lightly used tractor to have this water remove some carbon deposits and spit them out. Working it will get it to stop (for a while) Jim

lately, I have not worked it very hard. Just doing a few light things. So sounds like I need to work it and not worry about it.
Thanks
