LED replacement bulbs?

Forgive me if this topic has already been covered many times--I did a search and found lots of similar topics.....

I would like to replace the light bulbs in my WD-9 with some higher output LED bulbs. There are many different ones available so it is really hard to tell which ones are the best ones. Has anyone replaced the light bulbs in their old Farmall/McCormick with modern LED bulbs? What is the best kind to buy?

AFIK the WD-9 is 12 volts from the factory. So converting to 12 volts will not be an issue.

However from the factory the was WD-9 positive ground. That WILL be an issue as most (all?) LED conversion lamps are neg ground.

Incidentally changing a generator-equipped tractor from positive to neg ground is not a big deal, and no new parts required.

Good point, the WD-9 is a 12 volt, positive ground system from the factory. I would prefer not to change that, if possible. Diodes (LED's) only work one way. One of the other posters mentioned a dual polarity LED bulb from Superbright, I will look into it. I can't figure out how that can be, but the world is full of people who are smarter than me! :)

I can think of 2 ways to do it.

1) Put a bridge rectifier circuit in front of the LED (requires 4 diodes).
2) Put 2 sets of LEDs in the bulb, one for each polarity.

I imagine option 1 would cost less and fit better in the space available.

A couple years ago I installed two LED bulbs in a grey electrical junction box, duct-taped and wire-tied onto the front air cleaner housing on my Troy-Bilt lawn mower, works wonderful, lights up the night. Uses the same light circuit for the front lights that fell off long time ago. No idea how I did it, just did it. Works great.
