Cub Front End

I have several parts Cubs (all red) and I noticed the front axle on one was not adjustable, it is just a straight tube axle. I thought all were adjustable. Is this an odd ball or what?

(quoted from post at 23:05:06 11/22/13) Non adjustable was standard equipment, but you don"t see them often. Perhaps an older Cub??
I agree. Adjustable was an option. I've seen lots of Cubs and at least 95% were adjustable.

Correct. When the Cub and the A were first introduced, the front axle was solid. The adjustable axle was an option. later, they made the adjustable axle standard.

While not desirable from a usability perspective, if you are restoring an early one, and looking to make "it right", that axle is relatively rare now.

Decide what you want to do. If you are making a working Cub, that you will use for cultivating and planting, you want an adjustable front axle. If you are making a show tractor, use it. It is a hard to find variation of these.......

Jim, I agree, I may not have worded my response as I meant it. Both were available day 1. I 100% agree. But from original dealer materials I have, it shows the solid axle as the standard configuration. The adjustable axle was an option.

later the standard equipment was the adjustable axle.

sorry if I caused confusion.
