There is an IH 686 diesel up for sale at a local auction this weekend. Now whereas I know nothing about this model, I thought I might get some imput from you guys on the pros, cons and value of this model?

The tractor in the picture is a 684 utility. Made in Germany, it is a decent tractor. Totally different from a 686. A 686 is a row crop tractor. The tractor in the picture looks to be in poor condition, run hard and put up wet. Price it accordingly and expect to spend a bunch to get it back in condition.

Doesnt look like any 686 I ever saw...That tractor looks beat to crap.I would be very cautious about buying it.No matter how good the tractor is supposed to be.

When it comes time to sell, ALL tractors are "in great condition" or are "great tractors" or are "really powerful."

I agree, that one looks BEAT. It would have to go cheap, but I bet it won't.

Also it's a 684. Six-eighty-FOUR. Big difference.
