I made a mistake and posted this same question on the tractor talk forum.I forgot which side of the motor the rod numbers are to be installed on,and is there a front to the pistons.I will clean the top of the pistons tomorrow and see if there marked front. The rods look to be straight rods so it probally doesnt matter.I think that the rod numbers always whent to the cam side.Ive rebuilt a few of these motors but its been awhile

You can confirm Tom's answer by checking the direction of the oil dippers - the open side collects oil as the crank turns. The numbering dots on the caps and the rod are on the same side - the cam side as Tom says.

There are no oil dippers on the F12, it has a drilled crank and full pressure lubrication.
